Niyazi Steak & Kebab house was one of a very few Kebab shops to open in the late 60's and early 70's , at that time the 3rd or 4th to do so in Britain and was established in 1970.

The Restaurant was situated in Mare street Hackney and was the first kebab shop to make Giant Doner kebabs in Great Britain .

The shop after a slow start became probably the most famous Kebab house of that period. The Restaurant was published several times in the Turkish press such as Hurriyet and Milliyet who had never seen such a big Doner.

Londoners were getting their first taste of Turkish Cuisine and even Turkish music, cues would go down Mare street at Lunch time with people who were hooked on the excellent taste of the Doner.
